Minutes for Felmingham Village Hall Committee held on Thursday 12th December 2024 at 7.30pm

● It has been noticed that the guttering is leaking in a couple of places, Mike offered to
seal these over the Christmas period
● Floor cleaning Darren Jarrad of Jarrad & Son to clean and seal hall floor on Thursday
19th December. Hall chairs to be moved before this, so that floor is clear, Mike
suggested to move them into bar area after meeting, which was completed
● King’s Beck Newsletter article Completed and Ongoing: Sarah to send new article in the
new year for January 10th deadline, with report on New Year event etc.
● Social night rules for children? Notice
Roy has ordered 2 signs to be put up on bar entrance doors, for children to be
accompanied when in bar area
● Website Ongoing
● Neil Ireland is to update the village hall website. Karen led the discussion on what was
needed.
● Update dates and events
● Hall costs £9 and £15 with bar
● New calendar to show morning, afternoon and evenings for bookings
● Ask Des to pass on bookings
● Karen to supply info for village hall events
● Lonestar Dances, Roy to send dates list to Karen
● Sarah to send King’s Beck articles to Neil/Karen for inclusion
● At present email enquiries go to Roy, this to continue
● Hirer enquiries go to Des, this to continue
● Graham to add Neil email to recipients of meeting minutes, so that these can be added
to website, Karen to supply Neil with minutes of previous meetings
● The possibility of uses generic email addresses for the village hall rather than private
was also discussed
● Also whether there would be a hit counter to see number of visits to website
● Items will be able to be added or removed, whereas previously out of date items had
stayed on permanently
● Syd also brought up the subject of a drop box account.

Account Bank balances to 11th December are:
Community Account £12055.80
Business Premium Account £14964.59
Total £27020.45
Cash float £128.14
This includes a grant received from The Garfield Weston Foundation of £2500 towards the new
kitchen, which must be used within 12 months, which is to be moved to the Business Premium
Account.
Syd also had started an application to The Geoffrey Watling Charity, and has been trying to
contact them to change it.
There is a negative balance for the year so far of £1314
There is still an outstanding invoice of £18 from May 2024
The Broadband contract is up for renewal, Syd discussed this and is looking at further prices. - Bookings and events update
New Year’s event

● That we have lots of Papworth’s burgers and sausages stored
40 burgers and 30 sausages

Need to download songs and line up

Mike also to create playlist for background music between songs

Roy and John to cook and sell burgers and hot dogs from front hall kitchen
Roy to check cooker grill is in working order
Buns and rolls needed also onions and burger cheese singles we have condiments in
the fridge in the bar kitchen area

Karen and Mike to ask for raffle prizes
Committee members to also each bring a prize

Mike offered to print flyers to distribute to houses in village approx 220
Karen and Graham offered to help distribute

Arrange a date to decorate hall for Christmas
● 2pm on Wednesday 18th December
Mulled wine for Christmas dance
● 5 bottles or so to be sourced for Christmas Dance for C&W dance patrons
Help for Roy on C&W dance nights
● Help needed includes making rolls etc which need to be made on the premises before
the event, esp when Roy is not available, a contingency plan is needed. Sarah offered to
help in the new year, Karen also offered to help put out tables and chairs.
● Mike to help at Christmas C&W dance heating and distributing mulled wine on 20th Dec.
