Chair’s Report:
Thanks to all committee members. We had a reasonable year under the circumstances. The financial situation is good with thanks to Syd. The hall is being used during the day by Lapwings and Diabetic society. Evening functions include Zumba, Taekwondo (weekly), and NW bird club (Monthly). Also, country music (fortnightly) and social nights (Monthly)
The next project is a new kitchen. Syd and I met with Coralie Martin from NNDC who gave some ideas for grants and other useful info. The Coronation is on 6th. May, if anyone has any ideas, let us know. A dance is booked for 5th. May.
Above all we would like a few more people on the committee. It is a village amenity for all the village.
Secretary’s Report
I took on the role for 6 months and extended it until the AGM. I am proud to have introduced Action Points to make sure items were followed up. I feel the Broadband was an excellent introduction to the village hall amenities. I will be asking the committee to introduce regular coffee mornings for villagers. Due to work commitments, I have struggled to carry out my duties efficiently over the last few months and will be stepping down as secretary at this meeting.

Electricity
I received a communication from our current Electricity supplier E-ON Next advising that our current Business Flexible Plan comes to an end on 5th April 2023. I telephoned both E-ON and Octopus for fixed prices because the rates for the next years Business Flexible Plan are ludicrous. See attached details as of 24th January 2023
Community Action Norfolk
Roy arranged a meeting with Coralie Martin from NNDC to discuss funding streams for the village hall. She was interested in what we wanted to do but many of the funding streams are for larger projects and we would require more money than we currently have to participate. She did however suggest speaking with Sharon Garth from North Norfolk who may be better able to advise us on funding our main requirements. She also suggested it may be useful to join CAN. Benefits are attached.
The accounts have been prepared as previous and although not a necessity have been checked by an independent examiner.
Early December 2021 Sir Norman Lamb was asked to officiate at the re-opening event.
Following the challenging COVID lockdown and restriction of activities we were able to commence limited activities in June of last year with weekly Zumba classes and the monthly Bird Club meeting. Country and Western Dances didn’t commence until January this year and have continued with 2/3 events taking place each month apart from March when one of the events was cancelled due to increased COVID infection levels.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was also celebrated commencing with a visit from Julie Reinger of Radio Norfolk’s Treasure Quest and followed by a packed hall with everybody enjoying activities.
The improved appearance of both the outside and inside of the Village Hall has also resulted in an increased level of hall activities during the year.
The Village Hall were also fortunate to receive a further COVID- 19 business support grant improving the financial position.
